Privacy policy

SnipFrame processes screenshots on your device. It does not upload screenshots, send analytics, use advertising trackers, or transmit your browsing activity to the developer or third parties.

Capturing a screenshot

When you start a capture, SnipFrame accesses the current page to select an element and temporarily captures visible page pixels. It crops and, where necessary, combines those pixels locally. Screenshots may contain personal information visible in the selected content.

The current capture is held in extension session storage while editing. Closing its editor or source tab releases that session copy; session data expires when the browser restarts or the extension reloads.

Capture history

The latest 20 original cropped captures are saved in a local history, with dimensions, shape information, labels, and timestamps. History does not store source URLs or per-capture edits. Labels can contain text from the selected page. You can delete individual captures or clear history in the extension. Older captures are removed when the history exceeds 20 items.

Settings and presets

Styling preferences and named presets are stored locally in your browser. Presets do not include screenshots. Uninstalling the extension removes its browser-managed storage.

Copying and exporting

When you choose Copy image, SnipFrame writes an image to your clipboard. When you choose Export, it saves an image through your browser. Exported files and clipboard copies are outside the extension's history; clearing history does not delete them. Your operating system or other software may manage or synchronize your clipboard and downloaded files.

Permissions

SnipFrame requests temporary access to the active tab, script injection for selection and the editor, local storage, and clipboard writing. It does not request persistent access to all websites.
